1 BTC to USD: $10,000
Bitcoin $10,000 is now in the books, cresting the $10,000 mark earlier today. The price of a single bitcoin in USD has been increasing dramatically in 2017, a year that has seen the cryptocurrency pass every $1k milestone from $1,000 to $10,000.
In fact, the only other $1k milestone was back in 2013 (that milestone was, you guessed it, $1,000). Bitcoin’s value in USD softened following that high in 2013 only to see $1,000 again at the onset of 2017.
1 BTC to USD: $11,000 [update]
Just one day after pushing past $10,000, the value of a single bitcoin pushed past $11,000.

Bitcoin 2018 prediction $20,000 to $40,000
Back in October Mike Novogratz predicted Bitcoin’s price would hit $10,000 by the end of 2017. Two weeks ago he called for $20,000 by the end of 2018. He later raised his prediction for bitcoin’s end-of 2018 price to $40,000.
Beyond Novogratz there’s plenty of speculation about both Bitcoin’s potential as well as risk.
